I think I would call this The Impact of Promiscuous Sex On a Family. Everything that happened to Randy came as a result of promiscuity rather than homosexuality.

"Powerful stuff," alright. It's amazing how powerfully sick and twisted this poor guys parents were to use him as a puppet of the right wing.

Anonymous,

"...puppet of the right wing" in the sense of taking part in the interview?

Ken,

To try and understand what you are trying to say I would like to ask you a question. Are you suggesting that promiscuous homosexual sex acts lead to less deaths and STD's, ect than promiscuous heterosexual sex acts?

Not at all. I’m simply saying that even if Randy were heterosexual and as promiscuous as he was than I doubt life would have ended much differently. If however he had become monogamous with one homosexual partner the outcome would likely had been much different. Being monogamous (gay or strait) is nearly as effective at preventing STD’s as abstinence; while promiscuity (gay or strait) is nearly begging for a disease.

Oh I nearly forgot; I changed my name because of what I heard on a Christian radio station.

Ken,

You said:

"Being monogamous (gay or strait) is nearly as effective at preventing STD’s as abstinence"

Can you at least try and cite this absurdness if you are going to make such comments??

The New Village Atheist said...

Ummmm, Scia, do you know how STD’s are spread?

John Hosty said...

Ken, let me see if I can make any headway here. Scia, STD's are "sexually transmitted diseases". That means you have to have sex with people who have them in order to get them. Get it?

If you are in a relationship with someone and both of you are monogamous it would be impossible for you to get these diseases and just as effective a measure of prevention as abstinence.

Ken and John,

Being monogomous now does not mean someone has been monogomous in the past...I can understand what you are both saying, but I think we have two different, and correct, point of views that are clashing here.

The New Village Atheist said...

Hey Scia, the simplest explanation is usually the best one. If I say monogamous I mean monogamous; not promiscuous and then became monogamous.

This guy from the radio show, he's not gay? The minute I looked at his picture my gadar went off full blast. Call me crazy but then again some of our worst critics turn up at the gay bars on occasion.

I agree. This douche is just trying to pass as straight. Just look at him! He's as gay as a picnic basket!

SCIA said...

Anonymous,

I whole-heartedly disagree with your comments, but I have to be honest...I am pissing my pants in laughter!!!!!!!!!!

'He's as gay as a picnic basket!'

I have to ask, where did you get this line? A movie??

Just keep it clean please.

Here's a quote from his website:

"WHO radio host Steve Deace and pastor Bob Deever of Grace West Church recently questioned Iowa State Senator Matt McCoy's Christianity on air.

Deever went so far as to say that McCoy, Iowa's only openly gay legislator, cannot be a Christian because he is gay."

Do pro-oppression forces really think they have the right to dictate who is and isn't Christian? It seems pretty arrogant to me that someone would dismiss all the denominations of Christianity that are inclusive to GLBT people.

Scia, why do you personally think you need to invest so much time in a struggle against my equality? I'd really like to understand what you see that is so compelling.

This guy Steve Deace, is he married? Just curious.

SCIA said...

John,

You asked:

"I'd really like to understand what you see that is so compelling."

Jesus Christ and His deep desire to have you repent and do away with your sexual sin. That, John, is compelling.

I want to see you pass the test at the gates of heaven, John. I want to see you there and pass the judgement of Christ. It is that simple.

So why then is there so much anger? Christ doesn't call for hate in His name does He?

So is your new friend married or not? I noticed you evaded that question.

SCIA said...

John,

I think he is married...why?

You asked:

"So why then is there so much anger? Christ doesn't call for hate in His name does He?"

What anger, what hate?...here we go again.

In listening to him speak and seeing his photo I would have guessed he was a self hating homosexual.

How do you feel about self haters? You must admit they are out there, but you never see anyone talk about them.

BTW, you see that Kris Mineau will be on WBZ1030 AM radio tonight? I know how you feel about him, let me know if you are planning on calling in. I am.
