Yes, the price of gasoline this summer has run high, and people could of taken some other method of transportation to go wherever they need to go and not purchase new vehicles.
But why is it, Eric, that other car dealers are not having a problem with recovering from the summer woes of high prices at the pump? So no, Eric, "The whole industry" is not down.
Bill Ford just recently gave up his position do to lack of leadership in getting out of the "sales slump" to be replaced with someone with "more" experience.
No, Ford's financial slump does not ALL have to do with the boycott, but can you say that it did not affect it at ALL? Being down almost 12% and losing millions in revenue sure is a big chunk that you can't just blame on high gas prices.

Yes, I do think that Walmart will EVENTUALLY see the same results as Ford has but in due time. It will take a little while, but it will happen.
People do not want to associate their consumer buying power to advocate a sexual orientation or any cause that is not for the better of society. I am not being smart when I say this, but it is MY opinion that the average consumer just wants to buy things without any strings attached. I think that a greater interest in this issue is going to take place closer to the 2008 elections when people are going to be able to vote on marriage. They are going to start and associate one thing with another and start chosing other areas to shop. Others will not care and continue shopping at Walmart but vote for traditional marriage in MA. I guess it depend on how into your morals you are.

I do generally try to make purchases based on my beliefs, but when I see some items for a good price it can be difficult.
Your apology is accepted. While apparently we have opposing viewpoints on the issue of same sex marriage, I hope we can have a civil dialogue, where we can possibly learn from each other, even if we find we can't agree.

I agree, it is sometimes hard to pass up a great bargin, but I feel that there are other places to get great deals as well. In the case of Wal-Mart there are alternatives such as Targe, Job Lot or Building 19 1/2. If something can be done as simply as changing your place of shopping, I say why not?
Yes, even if we agree or disagree on things we can hopefully learn from eachother.

Yes, there are other reasons such as the illegal aliens and treatment of employees that ALSO helps me in my decision to not shop at Wal-Mart.
